Description

An ancient medieval center and dependence of the bishops of Bressanone, Vigo di Fasso constitutes one of the “Rules” of the central portion of the Fassa Valley. Today it is a famous summer and winter resort area that benefits from a healthy alpine climate. The ski area is formed around three locations: Ciampedie, Costalunga and Vigo.

The lift facilities exceed 2000 meters in elevation and serve slopes of varying difficulty, including "Paolina,” "Belvedere" and "Vallacin.” For cross-country skiers, we note the trails "Soraga" and "Fassa,” extending for 30 kilometers along the valley, as far as Cinazei, using a large part of the “marcialonga” trail. The most preferred destination for alpine skiers is that traversing Catinaccio, with the ascent of Lardek Peak, elevation 2889 meters. We recall besides that Vigo is included in the “Dolomiti Superski” circuit, a pass that allows one to ski in twelve different areas, for a total of 150 kilometers of slopes, 50 of which have artificial snow systems.
